Got Netflix? Awesome isn’t it? Here’s the thing, it could be more awesome. The sad fact is, because you’re watching it from the UK, you’re not watching the best version of Netflix.
Americans are. So here’s how you trick Netflix into thinking you’re a American.
Why bother changing??
Well… honestly it’s a bit iffy. Users have been doing this for SO long, but Netflix isn’t happy about it - it’s not illegal but it doesn’t want you to do it.
What you’ll need to do, is change your VPN (which isn’t hard). By doing this you’ll trick Netflix into thinking you’re in a different country to where you actually are - in this case, ‘Murica.
WARNING: This does technically violate Netflix’s T&Cs “You also agree not to: circumvent, remove, alter, deactivate, degrade or thwart any of the content protections in the Netflix service.”
So it’s up to you if you want to take that risk.
How to do it??? Want some help?? Please keep on reading!
First off, you need to download Chrome or Firefox. Once you’ve done that, download and install Hola, which is a totally free browser plugin.
Just click the big blue ‘Start using Hola, it’s free’ button and a popup will appear with ‘Add to Browser’ - click add.
Now it’s on your browser, click on the icon and select Netflix. Hola will ask you what country you want to pretend to be in, you just then need to pick the US.
If you get a Chromecast (around £30), you can then watch Netflix directly on your TV.
Got an Iphone??? Just do like this...
If you have Android, it’s particularly easy as you can just download Hola from the Play Store.
In regards to your iPad or iPhone, you can fiddle with your Wi-Fi settings. Go into your settings, then Wi-Fi and then your network. Where it says DNS, enter this number: 213.5.182.117.
These numbers change every few months or so, but with a bit of Googling, you can usually find the new one.
